Wooden chair - J67 Lacquered oak

€444,00

Payment in 3 installments free of charge available for all orders over €150.

Ejvind A. Johansson designed the J67 chair in 1957. The chair established itself as one of Møbler's most timeless designs, before disappearing and being relaunched in 2013. Both light and heavy, the chair is characterized by the two vertical lines of its backrest. The J67 can be decorated with a seat cushion.

The chair is as contemporary and current today as it was when it was launched in the 1960s! Ideal in an office, it is also perfectly suited to a hallway, bedroom or dining room.

As wood is a natural material, differences in shade may appear between different pieces of furniture.

Architect Ejvind A. Johansson headed the FDB design studio for three years, from 1956 to 1958, following Børge Mogensen and Poul M. Volther.

Trained as a cabinetmaker, he completed his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts in 1949. At the age of 33, he was appointed head of design at FDB Møbler, where he flew the flag for three years. During this time, he managed to design a range of furniture that appealed to a wide audience and was more forward-looking than the designs of his two predecessors. This is perhaps reflected in the prices that Ejvind A. Johansson's furniture often fetches in auction rooms today. As a cabinetmaker, he, like Mogensen and Volther, valued solid craftsmanship combined with aesthetic design for everyday use.

It is therefore with great pleasure that Coop has relaunched the J67 chair, designed by Ejvind A. Johansson in 1957.
