The C35B dining table is one of FDB Møbler’s well-known classics. Designed in 1957 by Poul M. Volther, it is still a popular dining table today thanks to its elegant and light design. Poul M. Volther, head of FDB Møbler’s design studio in the 1950s, was known for his functional designs, and the C35B is no exception.

Poul M. Volther's goal in designing this table was to create a simple and elegant table that would complement any chair. Lightweight and functional, the beautiful table top is made of oak veneer, supported by a frame with sliding bars and solid oak legs.

All wood used is FSC certified and comes from European forests.

Designer

Furniture designer Poul M. Volther was one of the leading figures in Danish design. In 1950, after completing his training as a cabinetmaker, he succeeded furniture designer Børge Mogensen as head of FDB Møbler's design studio.

His simple, functionalist idiom was rooted in craftsmanship. Flexible furniture designed for everyday life. Furniture that was not designed for its appearance, but for its comfort.

One of his best-known pieces is the J46 radiant-back chair from 1956, which is a graceful reimagining of a modern kitchen chair.

Poul M. Volther was design director at FDB Møbler until 1955, after which he continued to design furniture, including the iconic Corona chair. He later became a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
