Åstrup is a practical extendable table containing both poetic and biological storytelling. Inspired by the human body, the designer designed the legs as the shoulders carrying the table top. It is also a table of solid materials: solid oak and oak veneer or solid walnut and walnut veneer, which makes each table unique. There will never be two tables exactly the same. The drawing system makes it easy to increase the number of seats. From 6 to 10 around the small table and from 8 to 12 at the large table.

It is characterized by its system of extensions with "Dutch slides" which allows the extensions to disappear under the main body of the top: a process as simple as it is elegant, which makes it very easy to extend its length by one meter.

FDB Mobler is a Danish company created in the 1940s by 2 young designers. Now, 75 years later, the company is reviving old classics while creating new designs.

Isabel Ahm 's Story
Isabel Ahm graduated as a furniture designer from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2007. For more than ten years she has had her own design studio where she studies the everyday life of the Danish people: the way they eat, sleep and spend time together. Based on her studies, she designs furniture that meets everyone's needs and habits. Its design solutions respond to everyday challenges. His first assignment for FDB Møbler was the Astrup dining table with Dutch sliding top. Isabel Ahm has already received a number of awards, including after appearing on the TV show "Denmark's Next Classic" on DR1.

Designer

Isabel Ahm a obtenu son diplôme de designer de meubles à l'Académie royale danoise des beaux-arts en 2007. Depuis plus de dix ans, elle possède son propre studio de design où elle étudie la vie quotidienne de la population danoise : la façon dont ils mangent, dorment et passent du temps ensemble. Sur la base de ses études, elle conçoit des meubles qui répondent aux besoins et aux habitudes de chacun. Ses solutions de design répondent aux défis de tous les jours. Sa première mission pour FDB Møbler a été la table de salle à manger Astrup avec plateau coulissant hollandais. Isabel Ahm a déjà reçu un certain nombre de récompenses, notamment après avoir participé à l'émission télévisée "Denmark's Next Classic" sur DR1.
