The brand

Jamini. In Hindi, this word describes the purple color of the lotus flower petals that cover the wetlands of Assam as far as the eye can see. It is in this region, the easternmost of India and which shares its borders with Bhutan and Bangladesh, that the creator of the brand, Usha Bora, grew up.

On this vast continent, although color is omnipresent, it is never solely aesthetic. It punctuates each moment, each event, it takes us to other horizons of life and beauty.

Jamini follows the same philosophy and also affirms its ambition: to bring together a community of committed customers sharing the same values of preserving an Indian heritage that is as legendary as it is resolutely contemporary, and thus become a benchmark international brand, striking with its chic and daring style. .

Block printing or Dabu, a hand printing technique using carved wooden blocks, originated in Rajasthan and is now widespread throughout India. Jamini uses this process for some of his reasons, without wanting to make too much use of it, because there are many other know-how to exploit and it is also a vocation of Jamini to play the explorer in search of the rarest crafts.
