Maria Matos is an illustrator and photographer who lives and works in Lisbon. His influences refer to the golden age of illustration which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The illustrations bridge this heritage with a more delicate, feminine and contemporary personal approach. The recurring themes are the representation of female figures in a fantastic universe, strongly inspired by traditional fairy tales, framed by fauna, flora with complex and detailed patterns.
